Spain 2012. A family of Cuban dissidents, expelled by the Castrist government and then abandoned to their fate by the country that has taken them in, has been camping for months in a square in Madrid. In the past dependant upon the communist regime that moulded them through its chievements as well as failures, now they must make a rude apprenticeship of a capitalist system.

Heidi Hassan

Born in 1978 in Havanna, Cuba. Joint Swiss and Cuban citizenship. 2002 graduated in cinematography at Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television, San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. 2008 Receives degree in film directing from HEAD (Haute École d’Art et de Design), Geneva. Works alternatively as DOP and film director. Her work has been shown in prestigious festivals and received several prizes.
