OTRA ISLA at the Solothurn Day Film Festival 2014
The documentary Otra Isla by Heidi Hassan has been selected for the 50th Solothurn Film Festival. Screenings on 26.1.2014 at 3pm and 28.1.2014 at 12:15pm
Spain 2012. A Cuban dissident family, rejected by the Castro government and abandoned to its fate by the country that took them in, camp out for months in a square in Madrid. Once dependent on the communist regime that shaped them, heir to its achievements as well as its failures, they must learn the hard way about a capitalist system they had dreamed of.

Espagne 2012. Une famille dissidente cubaine, rejetée par le gouvernement castriste et abandonnée à son sort par le pays qui l’a accueillie, campe pendant des mois sur une place à Madrid. Autrefois tributaire du régime communiste qui l’a façonnée, héritière de ses acquis comme de ses échecs, elle doit faire l’apprentissage éprouvant d’un système capitaliste dont elle avait pourtant rêvé.
