A short fiction film by Hakim Mastour

Though he has been living with Fouad for three years, 27-year old Malik going to marry Halima, 28 years old. He met her through a Tunisian Facebook group chat whose goal is to bring together lesbians and gays who are trying to get married in a country where homosexuality is illegal and punishable.

Since Fouad does not accept this marriage which would imply a total upheaval of their everyday life, Malik makes him promise not to attend the wedding which will take place in his parents’ village. But Fouad does not keep his promise. Will Malik choose to save apparences or will he rather choose to save the relationship he has formed with Fouad?

Born in 1990 in Nyon, Switzerland. Joint Swiss and Tunisian citizenship. 2012 BA in Cinema from HEAD (Haute École d’Art et de Design) Geneva, cinema department.
