A short fiction film by Julie De Wispelaere

Three entomologists explore a quarry in search of a rare species of ant they know to be abundant in the area. As they lose their way in the enormous excavation site, which is as organised as an ants’ nest, the industrial reality of their surroundings rapidly catches up with them. The environment and its hidden rules will have an influence on their journey, individually and as a group.

Julie De Wispelaere

Graduated from Head-Geneva in 2014, Julie De Wispelaere pursued a Master’s degree in Cinema at the Free University of Brussels focusing on the restoration and the different modes of diffusion of the film. She also followed a course in the laboratory L’Immagine Ritrovata and then an internship at the Eye Film Institute. Now, it’s been a little less than 2 years since she worked in digital film distribution for an independent distribution company, specializing in repertory films as well as contemporary films.
