A short documentary film by Manuela Steiner
Documentary, 26 min, CH, 2019
Nossa chasa tells the story of my Romansh family, when they are faced with a decisive turning point: before my sister emigrates with her family to Canada, we return to our house in the Engadine. So far, none of us have been ready to take care of this family legacy, despite our mother’s efforts to preserve it. In the film “Nossa chasa” we seek to re-appropriate this heritage so far removed from our current life plans and to make it a source of inspiration for our future.
Manuela Steiner studied the sociology of religions and English literature at the University of Friborg, then dramaturgy and screenwriting at the Film Academy in Ludwigsburg (D).
Her mother tongues are Romansh and German.
